As a young man growing up in New York, it is very easy to get distracted from your goals. As time goes on, new people are moving into the city and more and more real New Yorkers are getting pushed out. In this city anything goes. You can have a billion-dollar skyscraper 50 feet from dirt-poor projects. This city almost forces us New Yorkers to make prosperity the goal, not personal achievements, not finding your calling, not working on becoming a better person, but to create wealth in any way possible. We don’t have a choice because as much as we love our city, it can spit you out and never look back. It’s a blessing and a curse. New Yorkers are hustlers; we will do anything to make ends meet from being a zombie in a job we despise to hustling on the streets. No matter how tough it may be or how hard the struggle is, the real ones never leave.
New Yorkers are a different breed.
